Aunt Lyn's Holistic Defense Shampoo is an  anti-viral,  anti-bacterial and more, cleansing formula with an added barrier for bug protection. It can be used alone or in conjunction with the defense properties of Aunt Lyn's Flea, Tick & Bug Be Gone.  This multi use product is effective, yet gentle enough to use as a daily-use quick wipe to freshen and protect, and of course for times when you dog requires a full cleansing bath.

We recommend this product be used especially for allergen sensitive dogs, because of it's  anti-fungal, antibacterial/viral hypoallergenic formula.

Our HOLISTIC DEFENSE SHAMPOO is a proprietary blend of the finest organic essential oils. Our formulation contains: Lavender Oil, Chamomile Oil, Clove Bud Oil, Lemon Oil, Cinnamon Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Rosemary Oil, Neem Oil, and a pinch of Pink Himalayan Sea Salt. Our HOLISTIC DEFENSE SHAMPOO provides a fragrant yet effective cleaning solution.

We also use the finest carrier oils chosen to blend the essential oils to the proper ratio. Our HOLISTIC DEFENSE SHAMPOO uses Mineral Oil, Pure Organic Coconut Oil and Evening Primrose Oil.

Why It Was Developed

Aunt Lyn was tired of using soaps on her dogs that only cleaned and didn’t do a great job at that, so she set out to create a shampoo that would:

Clean and leave the dog smelling fresh all day,

Deter fleas, ticks and other insect pests, and

Could be used to quickly freshen the dog after a day of play.

Hypoallergenic yet effective cleanser which can be used as a laundry detergent, toy -wipe, or to clean your dog's dishes 

Aunt Lyn’s HOLISTIC DEFENSE SHAMPOO is a result of that effort. By blending a proprietary combination of essential oils with Castile soap, you now have a product that cleans and protects.  In a hurry – and who isn’t? – just put a little HOLISTIC DEFENSE SHAMPOO on a damp towel and wipe your dog’s coat. Have more time? Take out the hose or get the tub ready for a fun bath session. Oh, and one other thing, you can use it to wash yourself as well, so go right ahead and jump in the tub with your best friend if the mood strikes you. (At Aunt Lyn’s we call this multi-tasking!)

Suggested Uses

Full Wash

Completely wet your dog’s fur/hair. Apply Aunt Lyn’s NATURAL DOG SHAMPOO in quarter size or palm size increments depending on your dog’s size. Lathering down to the skin as you go.

Tips:

• First, start washing his or her: Head, Neck, Shoulders, Chest, Front Legs. Next, wash the mid-section: Back and Under Carriage.  Lastly, do the Hindquarters.
• Do not start to rinse until the dog is completely washed.
• As with all shampoos, avoid getting in the eyes.
• Once you’re finished washing, wait a few minutes before you begin the rinse. This will allow the essential oils to penetrate and coat for optimal anti-viral, anti-bacterial protection.

Quick Freshening Up

Wet a clean or towel (paper or cloth). Apply a quarter size drop of Aunt Lyn’s HOLISTIC DEFENSE SHAMPOO and blend. Then wipe over your dog’s coat.

Safety Precautions

1. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Cats especially should not come in direct contact with products containing essential oils.

2. When using any product containing essential oils topically always test on a small area, and/or with a small amount first.

3. Always discontinue use if the problem you’re treating persists or gets worse and immediately consult a veterinarian.

4. Make sure to wash your hands after touching any product containing essential oils. Be especially careful not to rub your eyes or your pet’s eyes or handle contact lenses prior to washing.

5. Store in a cool place out of the direct sunlight. Heat and light can cause rapid oxidation and not only spoil the beneficial properties of the oil, but can cause skin irritations and allergic reactions if used.

Tip: If an essential oil ever gets into your mouth or eye - immediately flush with cold milk or vegetable oil to dilute. Do not use water. If stinging persists, seek medical attention.

Don't Rinse off until you are finished and let the hind section sit for a minute or two before you begin the rinse.This will allow the Essential oils to penetrate and coat, to give optimal anti-viral /bacterial bug deterrent defense.
As with any shampoo please avoid getting in your dog’s eyes
